A marvel of consistency, quality and commitment.

Volunteer opportunities are available at every level of involvement—from the day-to-day work of creating Sack Suppers to leading community initiatives. Here’s why you should join our movement too.

Amazing Numbers

Each day, hundreds of volunteers come together to improve children’s well-being. They are the engine that makes Kids’ Food Basket work and help thousands of children affected by hunger succeed in school and life.

Meaningful Work

Caring people lend their hearts and hands to make, decorate and deliver Sack Suppers for dozens of schools and summer sites. Our headquarters, satellite locations, and community settings offer groups of any size and ability a range of volunteer opportunities. Some volunteers drive Sack Suppers to local sites each day.

Local Leaders

We are guided by diverse and passionate leadership volunteers who give their time and knowledge on our committees and as our board of directors. These dedicated advocates share their skills, life experiences, and time to govern and improve our operations, finances, community outreach and much more.

Youth-friendly Volunteering

More than 33% of volunteer hours come from youth ages 5 to 18. We provide safe, welcoming spaces where young people can make an impact on childhood hunger, and participate in leadership roles with our Kids Helping Kids program.

Simply a Great Time

There is nothing fun about childhood hunger, but changing the world can be! We make changing the world easy—and fun! Through engagement with our friendly staff, anyone can get started quickly. In just an hour, our volunteers already see the difference they are making in the attack on childhood hunger. It’s a rewarding and enriching experience.
