Many local and national employers will help multiply employee and retiree donations by matching their contributions – this means if you give to Kids’ Food Basket, they will too! Some employers also match volunteer time, providing monetary donations to organizations where employees, and often retirees, volunteer.

Each year, an estimated $4-7 billion in matching gifts go unclaimed across the country because employees are unaware of the opportunity or don’t know how to take advantage. You can help Kids’ Food Basket put some of these available resources to work by finding out whether your employer will match your support!


How do you get started?

Use the search box below to see if your employer matches donations or volunteer time. If so, follow your employer’s unique instructions on how to claim a matching gift. If your employer isn’t listed, they may still match gifts while choosing not to share details publicly. Ask your supervisor or human resources professional for more information and next steps.

Kids’ Food Basket is committed to our volunteers, staff, and community’s safety and continues to abide by the most current CDC and State of Michigan regulations and guidelines.

Due to rising in COVID-19 cases, we have begun locking the doors to our facilities (outside of volunteer shifts) to ensure that everyone who stops by is greeted outdoors and takes a health survey before entering our facilities.

In addition, we have made the following changes regarding volunteer engagement:

  • 2 to 3-hour volunteer shifts (maximum)
  • Individuals discouraged with high-risk factors
  • A site-specific volunteer shift plan has been developed for each KFB service location, effective immediately until January 15, 2021:


    • Monday to Thursday: 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (10 people) Packing Shift
    • Monday and Tuesday: 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (10 people) Prep Shift
    • Monday to Thursday: 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (14 people in two different rooms) Prep/Pack
    • No volunteer shifts on Fridays


  • No volunteer shifts available
  • On-site staff will pack all Sack Suppers throughout the week

Ottawa +Allegan

  • Monday to Wednesday: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (8 people)
  • No volunteer shifts on Fridays

** Volunteer drivers will still be needed at all three locations. **
