Assemble a Sack Supper
Time Commitment: 1 hour minimum (some are 2 or 3!)
Best for: Individuals
Age Requirements: 5+
For nearly 9,000 West Michigan children, Sack Suppers mean school lunch doesn’t have to be the last meal of the day. With the help of volunteers like you, we provide the security and consistency of guaranteeing that meal each and every weekday.
Hundreds of volunteers come together every day to prepare, pack, decorate and deliver meals that help kids learn and live well. No matter the volunteer opportunity, we make changing the world easy, fun and a highly rewarding experience for all. Can you give one or two hours? We invite you to take one hour this month and give it a try!
Assembling a Sack Supper comes down to the final items before delivery – crafting or sorting decorated bags to add that extra touch of love, using your hands to create portioned menu items to be placed inside those expertly decorated bags, and finally, filling a decorated bag with menu items as part of an assembly line-style task. Your efforts ensure that meals are ready to leave the building every day with volunteers that deliver the Sack Suppers directly to the schools, fresh from your volunteer shift!
