Kids’ Food Basket Seeks Leaders for Youth Boards

Kids’ Food Basket is seeking young leaders to join their Youth Action Board and Junior
Ambassador programs. The Youth Action Board is made up of representatives from area high schools
with the goal of educating other students about the issue of childhood hunger and empowering others to
help. Through focused monthly meetings, engaging and relevant speakers, and purposeful activities and
events, students will become more active and informed citizens and stronger leaders. Students will
develop and increase their skills in the areas of teamwork, critical thinking, creative problem solving, and
more. They will serve as leaders in the community and advocates for change as they tackle a pressing
community issue. Applications are now being accepted for one of Grand Rapids’ premier youth leadership

The Junior Ambassador program is an opportunity for middle and high school students to take an
active part in teaching other kids about the Kids’ Food Basket mission and opportunities to get involved.
Students will be trained to share the Kids’ Food Basket story and lead volunteer projects in the
community. They work with youth of all ages and serve as the youth voice of Kids’ Food Basket in the
community. For details, visit

About Kids’ Food Basket
Kids’ Food Basket is a Grand Rapids based nonprofit whose mission is “to ensure children in our
community do not go to bed hungry.” Childhood hunger denies dignity, robs kids of their energy, and
undermines our community’s stability. Kids' Food Basket is the only organization of its kind locally
dedicated to attacking childhood hunger. Learn more:
