Junior Ambassadors

Junior Ambassadors

The Junior Ambassadors (JA) program is an opportunity for middle and high school students to take an active role in teaching other kids about the Kids’ Food Basket story and Kids Helping Kids opportunities in their communities. JA works with both structured groups (such as GRPS Upward Bound and Delta GEMS) and individual students.

JA participants receive training where they learn to tell the Kids’ Food Basket, facilitate bag decorating and repacking projects, and lead the litter and nutrition lessons. For structured groups, there are three training sessions September through October. For independent students, training will be offered twice a year, beginning in the fall of 2012.

Following their training, students then facilitate projects. The Kids Helping Kids Program Coordinator will identify and arrange these projects and then inform and schedule students to lead them. Projects may occur on or off-site and students will be accompanied by the Program Coordinator or other KFB staff member.
