Joyce Glanville is a Humana Starlight Award Finalist

Joyce Glanville, a long-time Kids' Food Basket volunteer and supporter, is a Humana Starlight Award finalist.  Ms. Glanville started volunteering at KFB by making sandwiches and then recruited her colleagues at Morgan Stanley to join her.  Due to her leadership and commitment to provide food-insecure children with dinner, the Morgan Stanley group now has 15 weekly volunteers who give over 1,080 hours annually to KFB.  KFB is honored to have such a dedicated volunteer who is an ambassador for KFB be a finalist for this award.  Ms.

Kids' Food Basket has been selected as a 2012 EPIC Award Finalist by the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce.  The EPIC Awards (which stands for Entrepreneurial, Progressive, Innovative and Collaborative) recognizes businesses and individuals that support the community, demonstrate growth, are innovative, and have worked with others as mentors and collaborators.  KFB is one of three nonprofit of the year finalists.  We are honored to be a finalist and thank the community for believing in us.

Did you know that Kids' Food Basket will use about 330,000 pounds of donated food this year?  This is an enormous amount of food and that is why we are asking you, our dedicated volunteers to help us reach this goal.

Kids' Food Basket hosts nearly 170 volunteers daily in order to deliver a third meal, the Sack Supper, to more than 4,600 greater Grand Rapids kids per week day.  We can't do this without your help.  Spend less than 10 minutes of your time answering our Volunteer Services Survey to see your ideas turned into action.  Complete the survey now, before it closes on February 5.
